Rejjie Snow has announced a new album.
Marking the beginning of a new era for the Irish rap artist, 'Peace 2 Da World' will arrive on October 25, following up 2021's 'Baw Baw Black Sheep'. He said:
"It’s a worldly album, sonically and emotionally. I'm a nomadic person so this is my soundtrack to those days and the places I roamed. On this album I’m speaking to my favourite person in the world and this is the first time I’ve made something for someone specifically. I like working this way because I was forced to honour and challenge myself in ways I’ve never done so before."
To coincide with the news, Snow has shared a new single, Karen, which tackles judgemental people while riding a minimal hip hop beat.
"This record was a reactionary one," he added. "Most times we’re misunderstood by people and without being judgmental about it, I wanted to approach this new age phenomena of Karen’s in a light-hearted and fun way.
"I’m not big on making a point of things so literally, especially when it has to be catchy, this is just me and how I approach art."
Details of the record follow on from Snow's two Kaytranada-produced singles, Keep Up and All Night, his first new music in three years. However, from the tracklist appearing on Apple Music, it does not seem either will feature on the new project.
Snow has also confirmed album release shows in Brooklyn, New York and Los Angeles, California for October 24 and 30, respectively. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (September 6).
He'll also tour the UK and Ireland in November, followed by European dates. Tickets for the trek are on sale now.
