Jane's Addiction Release New Single True Love Following Hiatus Announcement

Jane's Addiction have released a new single, True Love.
The psychedelic ballad arrives just two days following the announcement that the band were going on hiatus, which came after frontman Perry Farrell attacked guitarist Dave Navarro during a show in Boston last Friday (September 13).
The original line-up of the band were partway through their first tour together in 14 years when the on-stage brawl happened, with a subsequent statement posted to social media on Monday (September 16) revealing that their remaining tour dates have been cancelled following a decision to, "take some time away as a group."
According to a separate statement posted to Instagram by Dave Navarro, on behalf of himself, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery, Farrell’s "continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties" was the reason for the cancellation. They also added: "Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs."
Farrell has since responded with a statement of his own, apologising and taking “full accountability” for his actions.
Despite the turbulent last few days, the group have gone ahead with dropping True Love onto streaming platforms. It follows on from their July single Imminent Redemption, the classic line-up's first recording together since 1990's 'Ritual de lo Habitual' LP. The band's last studio album was 2011's 'The Great Escape Artist'.
