Elisabeth Elektra has returned with a new single, Desire.
Written by the Glasgow-based artist and co-produced with Jonny Scott, producer and drummer for The Kills and Chvrches, Desire serves as a preview of Elektra's forthcoming album, 'Hypersigil', due out early next year.
The euphoric electro-pop track challenges societal conventions while celebrating individuality, body positivity and sexual freedom, and finds Elektra channelling inspiration from the music of Prince, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Nile Rodgers. Commenting on the song's creation, she said:
"I wanted to create a sanctuary where voices often silenced could find their power. Desire is a rebellion against societal norms, a celebration of bodies in all their forms. It's a battle cry for those who've been told their desires are wrong, a reminder that your sexuality is yours and yours alone."

A release date for 'Hypersigil' is still to be confirmed. It'll succeed Elektra's 2023 EPs 'Broken Promises' and 'Mail Order Karma', and her 2020 debut album, 'Mercurial'.
