Dr John Cooper Clarke has announced three huge shows with a series of very special guests for next spring.
In celebration of World Poetry Day, the punk poet will bring his words to his biggest audiences yet, with shows lined up at the London Palladium on March 19, Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on March 21, and Manchester's Co-op Live on March 29.
Performing classics, including Chickentown and Beasley Street, as well as material from his new collection, What, Clarke will be joined by Jan Brierton on all three dates, as well as John Agard in London, Henry Normal in Nottingham, and Linton Kwesi Johnson in Manchester. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (October 18).
The announcement comes alongside a collaboration between the Co-op Group and Clarke, titled the Proper Sound poem, which pays tribute to the city of Manchester, its people, and the new Co-op Live venue. Check it out here.
The Salford-born wordsmith's last musical release was 2017's 'This Time It's Personal', a collaborative record with The Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell.
