Manic Street Preachers Share New Single Brushstrokes Of Reunion, Push Back Release Of New Album

Manic Street Preachers have delayed the release of their new album, 'Critical Thinking'.
The follow-up to 2021's 'The Ultra Vivid Lament' was originally scheduled to arrive today (January 31), but will now be out on February 14, due to production delays.
In place of the record, the Welsh Rockers shared a new single from it, Brushstrokes Of Reunion, which offers their recognisable melodic, earworm rock. They say it, "Nods to imperial-era Waterboys, particularly the love and desperation of Rags - R.E.M. Life’s Rich Pageant meets classic Manics crunch + velocity. Lyrically, about the hypnotic quality of a painting that’s inherited from someone who has passed.”
The new song arrives with a Kieran Evans-directed video that begins with a quote from Welsh boxer Joe Calzaghe, "I know how to handle the fear. The fear is there, but I use it to motivate me.", then focuses on a dimly light boxer. It follows the previously shared cuts Hiding In Plain Sight , Decline & Fall and People Ruin Paintings.
Manic Street Preachers will support the new album with a previously announced spring UK tour. They will also appear at a number of festivals in the summer, including Bearded Theory and Live At Leeds In The Park. Tickets are on sale now.
