PVRIS have teamed up with Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante for a new version of My House.
The original track appears on the former's 2014 debut album, 'White Noise', while the re-recording adds LaPlante's signature melodic and fierce vocals to the mix of synths and guitars. Lynn Gunn commented:
"It was such an honor to have Courtney featured on this re-release. I didn’t know until meeting her that 'White Noise' was one of the inspirations to Spiritbox. After learning that and seeing the incredible world she’s created from that inspiration, it feels full circle now, and it was only right to have her be a part of this re-release.
"The album first came out at a time when women were still extremely commoditized in the rock/alternative space, and the fight to be embraced and taken seriously, simply as artists, was even more prevalent than it still is today. 10 years later, there’s been a lot of progress, but there’s still much work to be done. It feels really healing and powerful to get to share this song with someone who I know has had much of that same experience and has been fighting that same battle just as long, if not longer.
"Not only is she an incredible person and performer, she has such a distinct and dialed vision with Spiritbox. The high standard of precision, artistic integrity and vision, both sonically and visually, that she’s brought into the rock/alternative scene with Spiritbox, I feel has set the bar so high, and to have done that as a woman in a scene still so heavily occupied by men, it feels like the most badass power move. Take notes everyone!"
PVRIS will celebrate the 10th anniversary of 'White Noise' with US shows in March, before the European leg in the summer, which will see them play gigs in Manchester and London, before joining Kneecap in co-headlining the Thursday night at 2000trees.
They put out their most recent album, 'Evergreen', in 2023, which was followed by the 'F.I.L.T.H.' EP in October 2024.
Earlier this month, Spiritbox shared No Loss, No Love, the latest single from their upcoming album, 'Tsunami Sea', due out on March 7. The Canadian alt-metallers played their biggest London show to date at Alexandra Palace last week as part of a European tour that continues with a show in Paris tonight (February 18).
They'll kick off the North American leg of their Tsunami Sea Tour in Dallas on April 3, and will support Linkin Park on their From Zero World Tour at huge gigs in Italy, the Netherlands and London this summer. They'll also play the UK's Download festival in June. Tickets are on sale now.
