The soaring Americana track was written and recorded for The Americas, a new nature docuseries on NBC featuring music by Hans Zimmer and narration by Tom Hanks.
The first episode premiered on Sunday (February 23) and included Wandering, which features the tribal group the Makah singers. Carlile said:
"For me, the Makah people have been the bedrock of what it means to truly know the Pacific Northwest. Alongside the many proud tribes of the PNW, they are and always will be the heart and soul at the gates of the Salish Sea.
"Of course, this gorgeous and thought-provoking series spans the entire continent and miles and miles of Indigenous peoples' land. Wandering is so much more than a song."
Earlier this month, Carlile announced The Lost Time Tour, which will head across Europe and the UK in the summer. Tickets are on sale now. She released her most recent studio album, 'In These Silent Days', in 2021, followed by a re-recorded, acoustic-focused deluxe edition, titled 'In The Canyon Haze', in 2022.
The singer has also collaborated with Elton John for a new album, 'Who Believes in Angels?', which is due out on April 4 via through Island EMI Records. Head here to check out the video for the title track.
