The Charlatans have announced an outdoor show for the summer.
The indie giants will headline Manchester's Castlefield Bowl on July 3 as part of the Sounds Of The City series. Support will come from special guests Embrace and The Coral. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (February 28). Frontman Tim Burgess said:
“Castlefield Bowl is such a brilliant venue - our previous show there was one of my favourite Charlatans gigs ever. Can’t wait to play again in July.”
Also playing this year's series in Manchester are Elbow, Shed Seven, Haçienda Classiçal, The Black Keys, Bloc Party, Rizzle Kicks, and Basement Jaxx. Shed Seven and The Black Keys will also perform at Leeds' Millennium Square as part of the series, as will The Lathums, Mika, and Funeral For A Friend. Get tickets here.
The Charlatans will support Manic Street Preachers at the Welsh band's Heritage Live concert at Audley End House and Gardens in Saffron Walden, Essex on August 2, ahead of an appearance at Portsmouth's Victorious Festival on August 22.
The band released their latest studio album, 'Different Days', in 2017. In 2021, they put out the compilation 'A Head Full of Ideas', 'Pleased To Meet You (Demos)' and the live LP 'Trust Is For Believers', followed by 'Live At Reading Festival 1992' in 2022, and anniversary editions of 'Modern Nature' and 'Up To Our Hips' in 2024.
