Das Koolies have released a new single, White Star.
Exploring hazy, dream-pop territory, the synthy track offers a further glimpse into the group's new album, 'Pando', due out on May 9 via Strangetown Records in association with Amplify Music. Guitarist, Huw ‘Bunf’ Bunford commented:
"It’s an anti-war song, picking on ‘red flag’ events, like The Gulf Of Tonkin Incident, which tell us time-after-time that the war machine doesn't need the truth need not get in the way of lucrative violence. Collusion between spies and money men. The way the US empire was really built and now unravels before our eyes, now dancing round the pole of Trump’s foreign doctrine."
Das Koolies, comprising four-fifths of the Welsh indie stalwarts, Super Furry Animals, previously teased the follow-up to 2023's 'DK.01' with the singles Thoughtless and Som Bom Magnífico.
They'll play shows in Newport, Nottingham, London and Manchester during the week before the record's release. They'll also appear at Focus Wales in Wrexham on May 10. Tickets are on sale now.
