Theatrical, angelically-voiced soul-biscuit Paloma Faith is on tour. Before she got into the whole being successful racket, Paloma Faith used to get sawed in half every night as a magician’s assistant. Ouch. Now, either I need to get out more or she’s got some healing glands that put Wolverine to shame. Medical science needs to be alerted. Did I mention she’s on tour? Click here for Paloma Faith tickets.
Paloma Faith is half British, half Spanish (a mid-show mix-up maybe?), has studied theatrical direction, been a burlesque performer, an actress and a dancer and puts all of her various experiences together to make a show that goes beyond just music.
Admittedly, this can be a bad sign for the music but not in Paloma’s case; she’s been compared to Duffy, Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse. In a good way too and not, for instance, Welsh, dead and drunk. The Observer said “Her voice is something special: at once sensually earthy and impishly theatrical.”
Paloma Faith will be playing the following dates:
20 March - O2 Academy, Leeds
21 March - O2 Academy, Newcastle
24 March - O2 Academy, Birmingham
25 March - Guildhall, Southampton
26 March - O2 Academy, Bristol
28 March - O2 Academy, Oxford
29 March - O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London
