Iglu and Hartly bounded onto the basement stage at Ibar on Sunday night full of energy and promising a performance of blood, sweat and tears.
Their formula is a simple one, high octane synth, hardcore funk rock and some rap thrown in for good measure. The 5-piece from California certainly know how to let their hair down and were keen to make sure the audience followed suit.
Despite a lack of any real variety in their set, Iglu and Hartly’s simple yet addictive blend of head banging tunes and feel good attitude certainly appealed to their teenage following.
Front man Jarvis Anderson had the young crowd bouncing, moshing and screaming in equal measure as he promised to make it ‘hot and sweaty’ in the small and compact basement bar.
Formed whilst at University in Colarado in 2008, the funk rock five-some are best known for their single ‘In this City’. They left their fans waiting until the end before belting out an extended version of their biggest hit to the delight of a sweat drenched and exhausted Bournemouth crowd.
