Birmingham quartet Editors took to the stage at Bournemouth’s O2 Academy full of the dark and brooding attitude that has established them as one of the countries top Indie bands.
Starting with the title track from new Album ‘In This Light And On This Evening’, the Editors moved and soothed the crowd in equal measure, playing a mix of new songs as well as some more established favourites.
Formed in 2003 whilst at Staffordshire University the band fist came to prominence with Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album ‘The Back Room’ in 2005 and followed this up with UK Number One album ‘An End has a Start’ in 2007.
A sell out crowd witnessed a brooding and heart felt set throughout although it wasn’t until old favourites ‘Racing Rats’, ‘Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors’ and ‘An End has a Start’ were belted out towards the end of the set that Lead Singer Tom Smith really connected with the crowd.
New Track Papillon, undoubtedly one of the highlights from the new album was cracked out to the packed out O2 Academy as part of the Encore, sending the sell-out Bournemouth crowd home happy.
