The Modfather Paul Weller has announced that he will be once again hitting the road this autumn with a lengthy UK and Ireland tour.
Paul Weller has always been a performer who knows what to give for a good live show. Back in the days when punk was rife, bedraggled four-piece groups would rush through fifteen minutes of power chords while The Jam dressed in sharp suits and belted through some sleek R&B covers.
Since the days of The Jam, Paul Weller now seems to spend his life on the road. Touring endlessly, the singer has still been able to put new material to his fans and test out new ideas whilst on stage.
Whilst touring last year, Paul Weller mixed classic tracks with some unheard material. The new music would be foundations of ‘Wake Up The Nation’, the British singer and songwriter’s sooon to be released new album.
Expected for release on April 19th, the new album contains some of the singer’s most direct material in decades. It also features an appearance from Weller’s old pal Bruce Foxton from The Jam.
In support of the album, confirming an extensive UK tour including shows in Dublin, the songwriter is due to spend the bulk of the winter months on the road. Kicking off in Dublin on November 16th, the tour rolls into and across the UK on November 23rd finishing n December 10th with a show at Wembley Arena – incidentally where The Jam played their final show.
Paul Weller will play the following UK dates:
November 2010
16th-20th Olympia Theatre, Dublin
23rd-24th Brighton Centre
26th Birmingham Arena
27th Cardiff International Arena
