American geek-rockers Wheatus have added four UK summer shows to their 10th Anniversary Tour.
Catapulted into the international spotlight by their 2000 hit single “Teenage Dirtbag”, Wheatus have decided to hit the road for the first time in two years to celebrate their 10th year of making music.
Kicking the tour off in Bristol on Tuesday 8th June, the four-date jaunt will roll through the UK cities of Glasgow on 12th June, Birmingham on 15th June and finish up with a show in Newcastle on 19th June.
Wheatus’ first and largest hit was “Teenage Dirtbag”. Featured in the American teen movie ‘Loser’, the hit became an instant success amongst the teenyboppers and charted at number two in the UK. The band’s second single “A Little Respect” was a cover version of Erasure’s 80’s hit, which also scored big success for Wheatus, reaching another high chart position.
Clocking-up five studio albums and a number of band member changes, 10 years since the release of “Teenage Dirtbag” comes their 10th anniversary tour aswell as a new release. Through an announcement on Twitter, frontman Brendan B. Brown revealed that ‘Pop, Songs And Death: Vol.2 The Jupiter EP’ is scheduled for release next month.
