Another Act Booked For Glastonbury 2010

"Alright stop, collaborate and listen..." Any guesses on who's just been announced for the world famous UK Glastonbury festival?

If there’s one thing that fans can count on at the Glastonbury Festival, its unpredictability. It’s a sure thing that the weather cant be relied upon, or the line-up for that matter, with fans not knowing who is going to be playing when they buy their tickets. The one thing to expect for sure is the unexpected. This year is going to be no different!

With the majority of acts appearing still subject to a lot of speculation and rumours, it’s been confirmed via MySpace that none other than Vanilla Ice – yes, that’s Vanilla Ice of ‘Ice Ice Baby’ fame – is expected to appear at one of the many bar stages dotted across the festival site on June 24th.

Creased up with laughter? I certainly am! I mean ‘why?’ Surely after the collaboration with X Factor puppets Jedward, it was the final nail in the showbiz coffin for any kind of comeback?

Although saying that, it is easy to forget that ‘Ice Ice Baby’ became the first hip-hop single to score Number One on the Billboard Chart back in 1990, while the album that spawned the track, ‘To The Extreme’, topped the album chart where it stayed for a further 16 weeks and sold 11 million copies.

Despite this success, Vanilla Ice attempted suicide in 1994 with a cocktail of narcotics before turning his life around. Since those dark days the rapper has released more albums including ‘Hard To Swallow’ and ‘Bi-Polar’ that have brought a more rocky influence to his sound.

Even with the new releases there’s no doubt you can guarantee that it’ll be ‘Ice Ice Baby’ raising the roof at Glastonbury! “Werd to ya mutha.”
