Southampton band Delays have been described as British rock’s best kept secret, judge for yourself as the band announce shows across England and Scotland this summer.
A heady mixture of angelic harmonies, beat-group hauteur and groove-based hedonism, they could fit into British pop’s most regal bloodline: early Pink Floyd, The Smiths and The Stone Roses perhaps?
Formed in 2001 and consisting of brothers Greg and Aaron Gilbert, Colin Fox and Rowly, the band’s sound features Greg Gilbert’s distinctive lead vocals over a combination of guitar and synths. So far, they have clocked-up three critically aclaimed albums, all of which have entered at high positions in the UK charts.
Citing The Manic Street Preachers and The La’s as their main influences, Delays are currently making final preparations for their forthcoming fifth studio album release ‘Star Tiger, Star Ariel’. The album is set for release on 7th June with the first single from the record “Unsung” expected on the 31st May.
To coincide with the album release, Delays have scheduled a series of UK shows to support the new record. Kicking-off in Dundee, Scotland, the min-tour will roll through Bristol, Oxford, Nottingham, Hatfield and close in Cambridge.
