Melissa Etheridge To Play London's Shepherds Bush Empire & Tickets

One of the best-loved figures in rock, Melissa Etheridge, has announced she will play a show at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire this summer.
Known for her high-energy music and craggy vocals, American Melissa Etheridge was one of the first rock stars to be openly gay. Her first hit song was ‘Bring Me Some Water’ back in 1998, however prior to that she won Grammy Awards for best female rock vocal performance for her songs ‘Aint It Heavy’ (1992) and ‘Come To My Window’ (1994).
The singer and songwriter has a number of albums to her name including self-titled, double-platinum debut ‘Melissa Etheridge’ (1998) as well as ‘Never Enough’ (1992), ‘Yes I Am’ (1993), ‘Breakdown’ (1999) and ‘Lucky’ (2004). Etheridge also has been awarded an Oscar for her song “I Need To Wake Up” which was an original song for the 1996 Al Gore documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.
Melissa didn’t hit the mainstream until the release of her fourth album ‘Yes I Am’ which featured the huge hits “I’m The Only One” and “Come To My Window “, a critical song that brought her a second Best Female Rock Grammy.
The album went six times platinum and spent more than two and a half years on the US album chart.
