'Needles and Pills' Found In Paul Gray's Hotel Room

A recording of an emergency call has emerged where a witness claims to have seen injecting equipment in the hotel room where Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead.

The 911 audio recording, featuring the voice of hotel maintenance worker who found Paul Gray’s body, has been posted online by TMZ. It tells authorities that a hypodermic needle and pills were seen in the hotel room, with Mike Kellow, an employee at the TownePlace Suites in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa, stating that he found Gray in a corner of the room slumped against a wall.

The bassist was found dead on Monday, May 24th with local police ruling out any form of foul play almost immediately. The remaining members of Slipknot as well as Gray’s wife Brenna have now since held a press conference where they paid tribute to their late bandmate.

Singer Corey Taylor speaking to the press said, "The only way I can sum up Paul Gray is love," while drummer Shawn Crahan added, "Paul was there from the very, very beginning and none of us would be on the path we're on right now in life or have the sorts of lives we have without him."

With the deceased undergoing an autopsy “no signs of foul play or significant trauma” were found, however the cause of Gray’s death will not be determined until toxicologists return with test results. This may be a wait of up to six weeks.
