Corinne Bailey Rae is a soul and R&B singer-songwriter from Leeds.
Starting her music career in 1998 as part of the indie band Helen, she eventually embarked on a solo career, releasing her self-titled debut album in 2006. The LP debuted at #1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart, #4 in the Billboard Hot 100, and spawned the singles Like A Star and Put Your Records On. That year she won Best UK Newcomer and Best UK Female at the MOBO Awards. Her second album, 2010's The Sea, was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, and won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance in 2012. Her fourth and most recent LP, 'Black Rainbows', arrived in 2023. Corinne Bailey Rae will headline a show as part of the Somerset House Summer Series in July 2024. She'll also top the bill for Rock Against Homelessness at Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre in May, in aid of Focus Ireland, ahead of a one-off Brighton date in August.
