Eric Idle is an actor, comedian, musician and writer from South Shields, England.
Best known as a members of comedy group Monty Python, he also created the hit musical Spamalot, based on Monty Python's 1975 film Monty Python & The Holy Grail. Also a member of parody rock band The Rutles, he performed many of the songs featured in Monty Python projects, including the iconic Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life. He has also appeared in a number of other films, including Nuns On The Run, Splitting Heirs, Casper, Ella Enchanted and Shrek The Third. Eric Idle will take his acclaimed show, Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life Live!, on tour across the UK in September 2025.
