Grimes (a.k.a Claire Boucher) is a lo-fi electronic artists from Vancouver, Canada.
She started experimenting with music whilst at university, and got involved in the local underground scene. Her debut album was, ‘Geidi Primes’ released on cassette and download in 2010 with Arbutus Records, followed by, ‘Halfaxa’ the same year and ‘Darkboom’ in 2011 on d’Eon. In 2012 she signed with 4AD, and released her third album ‘Visions’., which was a success both critically and commercially. In 2014, she released the song, ‘Go’, which received a mixed reception due to a change in sound, and she also decided not to release an album she had recorded. She has supported Lana Del Rey on some dates of her ‘Endless Summer Tour’, and played Field Day Festival, amongst others. She released 'Art Angels' in October 2015, and announced ‘The Acid Reign Tour’, which is set to hit the UK in March.
