Ian Anderson is a Scottish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Dunfermline, Fife. A singer who’s also a talented guitarist and flautist, he can also play the bass, saxophone, harmonica, and many other instruments. Anderson is probably most famous for his time as frontman and flute-player of Jethro Tull.
Though he was musically active from as far back as the early 1960s, he released his first studio solo album ‘Walk Into Light’ in 1983, but continued to work with a number of musicians and singers over the years - putting out new solo albums at inconsistent intervals. His latest album was 'Homo Erraticus' in 2014. His fifth and latest studio album, ‘Thick as a Brick 2’, hit shelves in 2012, and it’s accompanying tour found great success in the UK. Ian Anderson last set his sights on the UK in 2015, supporting ’Jethro Tull – The Rock Opera’. Since, he's toured Australia and New Zealand. Ian Anderson tours the UK in 2019 and 2020, showcasing intimate evenings of performance, chat and archive video footage about his illustrious career and the history of Jethro Tull.
