Nile Rodgers is a record producer, songwriter, musician, composer, arranger and guitarist from New York City, New York.
Best known as the lead guitarist and co-founding of the band Chic, he is one of the most successful groups of the disco era and beyond. Formed in 1976 by guitarist Rodgers and bassist Bernard Edwards, they released their self-titled debut album in 1977, followed by a further six studio records—including ‘C'est Chic’ and ‘Risqué’ which reached the Top Five of the Billboard Hot 200—before disbanding in 1983. They reformed in 1992, and have remained strong ever since, touring the world extensively and recording a further three albums including, most recently, 2018's 'It's About Time.' Nile Rodgers will also a host a virtual charity show billed as The Stars Come Out To Sing At Christmas in December 2021. Following this, CHIC will play several shows during summer 2022, headlining Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool before a run of shows in London, Halifax, Bristol and Swansea, as well as an appearance at Esher Sandown Park Racecourse.
