Rick Springfield is an Australian rock singer-songwriter known for his time in 60s rockers Zoot, and more so, his ensuing solo career. An award-winning performer and musician, he began releasing his first solo records in the 70s, often featuring in the Australian Albums chart, but it wasn’t until the 80s that he found global fame.
His 1981 album ‘Working Class Dog’ flew straight into the #7 spot in the Billboard 200, performing better there than it did in his native Australia, where it hit #33. That record, and the following three, all earned platinum certification, building Springfield’s fanbase massively.
