The Dears are an orchestral-indie-art-rock band from Montreal, Canada. They were formed in 1995 by singer and main songwriter Murray A. Lightburn with Natalia Yanchak.
The band put out their debut album, ‘End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story’, in 2000. Today, their discography holds a total of eight studio records, the most recent being 2020's 'Lovers Rock', which they gave a deluxe reissue of as 'Return To Lovers Rock' in 2022. The band have headlined many of their own shows and tours across the UK, North America, Europe, Japan and Australia, and have supported the likes of Keane, The Secret Machines and Morrissey. The Dears have lined up an exclusive 20th anniversary performance of their second album, 'No Cities Left', at London's Islington Assembly Hall on December 7, 2024.
