The Swell Season are a folk-rock duo from Dublin, Ireland and Valašské Meziříčí, Czech Republic.
Consisting of singer-songwriters Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, they rose to fame following the success of the film Once (2007), which was a dramatized version of their own story as a band. They have released two albums to date in the shape of their 2006 self-titled debut, and 2009's 'Strict Joy', winning an Academy Award for their song Falling Slowly.
