Wire are an English post-punk band from London, consisting of by frontman Colin Newman, guitarist Matthew Simms, who replaced Bruce Gilbert, bassist Graham Lewis, and drummer Robert Gotobed.
Formed in 1976, the band released their debut album, ‘Pink Flag’, in 1977, and followed it up with ‘Chairs Missing’ in 1978, ‘154’, in 1979 and ‘The Ideal Copy’ in 1987. They have released a total of fifteen studio albums over the course of their career, their latest being 'Silver/Lead', in March 2017.
