Woodstock Tickets, Events & Festivals in 2025/2026Last Updated: 11 Jan 2019 4:29pm
Woodstock was a legendary music festival that took place on a dairy farm in the Catskill Mountains just outside New York City in 1969.
Primarily focused on folk and popular artists of the time, the festival attracted an audience of more than 400,000 with acts such as the Who, Joan Baez (who played at 2am despite being six months pregnant!), Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, and of course, Jimi Hendrix. The legendary Woodstock Festival will return in summer 2019 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. After years of rumours and speculation, the original festival's co-creator Michael Lang has revealed a three-day event will take place in Watkins Glen, New York between August 16 and 18. Tickets are set to go on sale in February, the same month the first acts will be announced. This is set to be one absolutely amazing event.
