Swedish Dance Duo Ticon Prepare To Release New Album

Sweden’s underground music scene has long been burgeoning with busy, creative and prolific producers and DJ’s, bubbling away under the surface to create wholesome, quality dance music. For Swedish dynamic production and DJ duo TICON, this trend is apparent in their high-profile output, firmly establishing them as the ‘Ones to Watch’ from the Scandinavian country, remaining streets ahead with constant support from the world’s electronic community and releasing high profile tracks and remixes through the likes of Lo Kik, Tribal Vision, INgrooves and the mighty Global Underground.

Their consistent output has been championed by Umek, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Stephan Bodzin, Dubfire and Markus Schulz, plus a further raft of big names that cover the whole electronic music spectrum, moving on from the Trance scene that they conquered so bodily with their debut album ‘Rewind’ back in April 2001 and the first of many. The duo recently decamped to solidly repped label Iboga records, based in Denmark.

With that said, it’s now time for the production royalty duo to release their fifth studio album “I Love You, Who Are You?” forthcoming in March 2011 through this seminal Danish imprint. It’s a deep journey, plotting a documented history so far with two differing and chronological CD’s.

The first offering is a CD packed to the brim with fresh new productions, while the second is a collection of already released and hugely popular tracks and remixes, including the huge remix of Jinxed by Christian Smith and Ticon’s remix of Johnson and Haske as well as juicy cuts from Spektre, Paul Thomas and EgoStereo, all of which have hit the Beatport Progressive Top Ten and embedded themselves in the minds of dance music fans everywhere.

This long awaited album couldn’t have come quicker. From their humble beginnings as struggling producers, saving money from each release to further build and equip their studio during previous incarnation Tripticon, to releasing well-known tracks like ‘ass-tronaut’, ‘monkey business’ and ‘rattlesnake lollipop’ on labels like Transient rec, Dragonfly rec, Digital Structures and of course Iboga Records.

They’ve earned themselves a spot in the growing group of respected ex-trance producers. Through sheer dedication, love and hard work, Ticon now present a more accomplished sound, spanning all facets of the musical spectrum – in simple terms, to make quality, feel-good music.

“I Love You, Who Are You?” Ticon's double CD album is released March 2011 on Iboga records.
