Josh and Zac Farro Announce Their Departure From Paramore

Paramore members Josh and Zac Farro have announced that they will be leaving the band. In a message posted on Parmore.net this weekend, it was revealed that the guitarist and drummer would be departing from the band immediately. The post also revealed that the two brothers had announced their decision a few months ago, and that all members had known that their show in Orlando on December 12th would be the last as a complete outfit.
The statement read: “A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn't seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn't here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere. But we never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind.”
Despite the departure of Josh and Zac, the band made it clear that they would continue writing and performing with the three remaining members, Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York. The post continued: “We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together. You have always been what keeps us going so why would we stop now? We want to stick by you. Knowing that we have a unified passion and a clear vision makes us feel stronger than ever.”
The band have not yet revealed when the two band members will be replaced or who will be chosen to fill their shoes. Paramore recently spoke about their relief at finishing the main touring and release cycle for their third record, ‘Brand New Eyes’, and although they have plotted several dates in South America for Spring 2011, all indicators would suggest that the band will be taking time to write and record new material before confirming future live dates.
