The Strokes performed a new track, ‘Life Is Simple In The Moonlight’ on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live. The show was hosted by teen singer Miley Cyrus, who luckily left the evening’s musical duties to the New York band.
The track, which is a relatively restrained number, was performed on a specialised ‘train station’ stage for the live show, which receives millions of American viewers on a weekly basis. The performance marks The Strokes’ third performance on Saturday Night Live.

The band also gave a performance of their latest single, ‘Under Cover Of Darkness’. The track is the first to be taken from their upcoming album, ‘Angles’, which is scheduled for UK release on March 21st.
Fans have been quick to criticise the performance, which features a barely audible guitar solo and lead singer Julian Casablancas offering a half-hearted vocal contribution. Producers may also not be the band’s biggest fans after Casablancas declared “F**k It” into the microphone during the closing lines on the song.
