Foo Fighters have premiered the video to their new single, ‘Rope’. The video for the track was launched last Friday 11th March, at 1.00am in the UK, by MTV.
‘Rope’ is the first single to be released from their upcoming seventh studio album, ‘Wasting Light’. The record was recorded by Butch Vig (of Nirvana 'Nevermind' fame) with contributions from Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. Early reports have indicated that the LP is a venture back towards the band’s earlier sound, mixing heavy, bass-filled tones with a newfound penchant for vocal harmonies and euphoric breaks. Judge for yourself by taking a look at the video for 'Rope' below.
‘Rope’ is a fast-paced case-in-point of the album’s direction. Filled with sharp guitar strokes and a powerful chorus line, the track eventually opens up to become an instrumental free-for-all which pits squealing string tones against the lethal pounding of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Foo Fighters are to release their much-anticipated 'Wasting Light' album on April 11th.
