Wednesday, 14 September 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

New York-based folk-pop duo The Pierces have announced that they will be following next month’s UK tour with the release of new single ‘Kissing You Goodbye’ on 24th October. The single is the latest to be taken from their fourth album ‘You & I’, which was released earlier this year. See below for all dates and tickets for The Pierces’ October tour.

‘You & I’ reached Number 4 in the UK Albums Chart upon its release in May this year. The album has since been certified Gold in the UK with over 100,000 sales so far, making it their most successful album to date. ‘You & I’ was produced by Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman and the other half of his production duo The Darktones, Rik Simpson.

The duo are made up of Alabama-born sisters Catherine and Allison Pierce, who released their eponymous debut album in 2000. The Pierces’ previous album ‘Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge’ was released four years prior to ‘You & I’ and was their last before moving to current label Polydor Records.

This summer, The Pierces have performed at Glastonbury, London’s iTunes Festival and Magic Summer Live with Elton John. Their October live shows mark the duo’s biggest headlining tour to date.
