Starlings Line-Up Third Single Release

Following the successful debut release of ‘Weight in Gold’ and the eagerly anticipated second single release of ‘Sirens’, Starlings are back with their third single - a brand new track called ‘Dark Arts’.

In a bid to reclaim Sheffield as Britain’s premier electro-pop city, Starlings sound, hotly tipped by the likes of NME, METRO, Guardian, Q and The Sun, reminds us that Sheffield was once as close, spiritually and musically, to Detroit and Düsseldorf as it is geographically to Doncaster.

The four-piece, together for little over a year, use elements of Sheffield’s electronic past and appear intent on stitching their name firmly into the Steel City’s spiritual electronic band fabric.

The band's trademark ‘Balearic Indie’ has been captured and nurtured under the wonderful wing of ultra-psych producer Richard Norris, (The Grid, Time & Space Machine, Beyond The Wizards Sleeve,) combining Balearic beats with cosmic synths to create a unique funk-tinged disco sound. The undeniably catchy debut album is set to drop late 2011.

The band will be touring the UK this October and November – if you want to catch them, check the dates and details below.
