The Smith Westerns Forced To Pull Out Of Arctic Monkeys UK Tour

Chicago-based rockers The Smith Westerns have been forced to pull out of the Arctic Monkey’s up and coming UK tour, after a ‘family medical matter’ meant they’d be unable to travel to Britain.

The band were due to join the Monkey’s on their travels around the UK starting later this month, but will now only complete their remaining US dates before returning to their local city of Chicago to say with family. They announced their decision to pull-out on through the Arctic Monkeys website earlier today.

The statement read: “Due to a family medical matter that has arisen this past week we will be completing the US leg of our current tour but need to return to Chicago immediately after that and as a result are forced to cancel all upcoming shows in Europe.

“We plan on returning to Europe in early 2012 to make up these shows as well as play additional ones. We hope that you understand and that we see you when we come back”

It’s unknown whether the Arctic Monkeys will be finding a replacement support act for the UK shows. If you want to catch the band live, though, check the dates and details below.
