Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council in association with Orchard Entertainment have announced multi-platinum selling pop star Olly Murs will headline Saturday night at Ponty’s Big Weekend 2012.
Olly, one of the most successful British singers of the last decade with two multi-platinum selling albums and four Number One singles, will follow in the footsteps of previous big name headliners Sugababes, JLS and The Wanted, when he takes to the stage at Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd on Saturday 21st of July 2012.
Olly rose to fame as runner-up in the sixth series of The X Factor, and has since gone on to become one of the biggest names in British pop. Speaking about his appearance at Rhondda Cynon Taf’s flagship event, Olly said: “I’m really looking forward to working with RCT and playing Ponty’s Big Weekend when I’ll get to meet my fans in the Valleys.”
