Jay-Z To Headline BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weeken

Superstar rapped Jay-Z has been confirmed as a headline act for BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekender, which is set to take place from June 23rd-24th.

The event is set to feature a number of huge acts and names and is a completely free event, with tickets being given away for just their £2.50 booking and handling fee. Acts like Flo Rida, Sean Paul, Tinchy Stryder and Ed Sheeran will all be performing at the show – and now Jay-Z has been added to what is now shaping up to be an extremely tasty line-up.

And if that’s not all, organisers have promised that another ‘international superstar’ is yet to be announced, and will be revealed in the near future. Jay-Z will headline the Saturday of the event whilst the currently unannounced star will round of the show on Sunday 24th.

The Hackney Weekend 2012 will attract around 100,000 concert-goers, with 50,000 tickets on-sale on March 25th, and the other half the following day – all fans have to do is register to apply for their ticket. A number of tickets will also be reserved for those living in Hackney and the other five Olympic boroughs – to celebrate London’s 2012 Olympics. For more ticket info, click here.
