Its official! The Rolling Stones are returning to the live stage this summer, performing a special show at London's Hyde Park on Saturday 6th July. Following the big announcement, now the dust has settled, next our attention turns to grabbing those all important (and bloody expensive) tickets when they go on general sale at 9am tomorrow, Friday 5th April.
Following the huge success of their '50 and Counting' shows at the end of last year, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood will return almost 44 years to the day since the Stones first played Hyde Park in 1969 - how times have changed - that gig was completely free of charge!
Speaking about their return, Mick says: “We had such a great time playing the five concerts last year, we want to keep it going! Hyde Park holds such great memories for us and we can’t think of anywhere better to perform to our UK fans this summer.”
Keith Richards added: “We all had such a ball last year, and the energy between the band is so good, we can’t wait to get back on that stage where the Stones belong.”
If you've already secured your tickets, or you're gearing up to battle the masses in tomorrow's general sale, get yourself in the mood for what will be one of the biggest gigs of the year with a blast of some of the Stones' most popular tracks.
