Tickets for the première screening of Shade Meadows’ hugely anticipated Stone Roses documentary sold out in just one minute, according to reports.
The critically-acclaimed director, who was the man behind Dead Man’s Shoes, This is England, and it’s ensuing television series, filmed the band from their reunion press conference in 2011, up until their live shows almost a year later, and has put the footage into a brand new documentary dubbed ‘The Stone Roses: Made of Stone’.
The film will be given it’s debut at a massive event in the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester - which the band will also attend - and tickets for it have sold out in less than sixty seconds. There have also been eight simultaneous-broadcasts scheduled to take place in cinemas across the UK - and tickets to those events have also sold out, meaning the film’s distributor Picturehouse will be arranging even more screenings.
Shane Meadows himself has commented on the success of the events, and said:
“I'd love to think the tickets selling out so quick was down to the fan base I've built up over the last 15-20 years, but I know it's them lot that everyone's really coming to see. Bald Chunkers like me don't sell out stadiums, but if we've got a Guinness World Record I would deffo take the credit.”
It’s unknown when the film will be made available for the public, but you can check out the trailer below! The Stone Roses also have three outdoor gigs lined-up for summer 2013 - check the dates and links below to find tickets through Stereoboard.
