The finest one-day metal festival in the UK, Leeds-based Damnation, has added three new artists to its bill for this November’s event. The new acts join the aforementioned likes of Carcass, Crippled Black Phoenix, Moss, Negura Bunget and Vallenfyre.
Swedish post-metal legends Cult of Luna will, after several years of requests, headline a stage at the 2013 festival. Flying in for this standalone show the band has promised a “crushing wall of sound and light” as part of their performance, and their set is sure to be unmissable. Approaching heaviness from a different angle, Liverpool crossover thrashers SSS will be returning to Damnation for the first time since the 2010 edition of the festival. The third band added to the bill, meanwhile, is London black metal quartet Voices, whose debut album was released earlier this year to rapturous reviews. The only bad news is in the form of The Sontaran Experiment being removed from the line-up after splitting recently.
With just under six months to go until the event, which takes place on 2nd November, Damnation is already looking set to be another fantastic day for the UK’s extreme metal fans. More bands are set to be announced in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard for all the details.
