Richard Ashcroft Unveils New Track Born To Be Strangers

Richard Ashcroft has shared a new track.
Born To Be Strangers is the second to be lifted from his forthcoming fifth solo LP, 'Natural Rebel', which is due out on October 19. Whereas previous single Surprised By The Joy was musically light-hearted, the new cut has more depth and shows Ashcroft fully embracing his rock heritage. He said:
"This record has more guitar playing on it than the last. We’ve reached the point where the guitar has to do something if you’re gonna play it. It’s got to move you in some way. It doesn’t have to be intricate or muso, it just has to have soul.”
The former Verve frontman will follow up the record's release with a run of intimate UK shows, calling in Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Nottingham, Manchester and London, where he'll play the O2 Forum Kentish Town.
