Holy Elixir is the second cut from the rapper and poet’s forthcoming album, ‘The Book Of Traps And Lessons’, which is due to arrive on June 14.
Similar to the first single Firesmoke, the new song is dark and intense. Tempest’s spoken word vocals are clear and emotional, recorded close to the microphone and placed on top of wobbling, eerie synth lines. She said:
“[Holy Elixir] was written as a kind of incantation. A psychedelic trip back to the beginning and deep into the present. It happens at a crucial point within the body of the album. It’s the penultimate moment.
"Taken out of that context, it stands on its own here.”

Tempest will celebrate the new record's release with a headline show at London's Broadway Theatre on June 19.
