L.S. Dunes have shared the title track of their forthcoming second album.
The eponymous track for 'Violet', out on January 31, offers Anthony's Green distinctive high-pitched, angsty vocal delivery over crashing percussion, catchy riffs and uplifting melodies. Check out the accompanying video, directed by Ian Shelton of Militarie Gun, below. Bassist Tim Payne said:
"I think Violet is the song that fully encapsulates everything we do as a band. Frank brought the demo to the band as a fully structured song, and it seemed that we all just knew immediately what we had to do.
"I hear quite a few elements from songs on 'Past Lives', but it’s filtered through the lens of a more established musical language between us, and we were able to take this already incredible song Frank wrote and elevate it to a place I don't think any of us imagined it could go."
Green commented: "This song is about someone getting exactly what they deserve. This song helped me get through the feeling of being ghosted."
The Will Yip-produced follow-up to 2022's 'Past Lives' will also feature the previously unveiled cuts Paper Tigers, Machines and Fatal Deluxe.
The post-hardcore supergroup—comprising Green of Circa Survive, Payne and Tucker Rule of Thursday, Travis Stever of Coheed And Cambria, and Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance—will play headline shows in Leeds and Cardiff on January 30 and February 10, respectively. The dates will take place alongside their gigs supporting Rise Against across the UK and Europe. Tickets are on sale now.
