Clutch have released a new song.
Evil, a cover version of the Willie Dixon 1950s classic, marks the first in a handful of studio recordings from the Maryland rockers' newly announced 'Weathermaker Vault Series'. It also serves as their first new music since last September's 'Book of Bad Decisions' LP.
The track, which leans more to the 1971 version of the song by Cactus than it does to Dixon's original, was mixed by mulitple Grammy Award-winning Clutch collaborator Vance Powell and arrives with a David Brodsky-directed lyric video, viewable below. Additional songs from the series are set to follow throughout the second half of 2019. Vocalist Neil Fallon said:
"We've had a good amount of downtime since our last tour. And since the devil finds work for idle hands, we kept ourselves busy by recording some tunes. Evil is the first of them, a song we’ve loved for many many years."
The song premiered on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show last night and will feature as part of the band's set at Download Festival on June 14. Following their appearance at Donington Park, the band will embark on a short run of European shows.
Clutch Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Sun June 16 2019 - CARDIFF Great Hall - Cardiff Uni
