Tom Rush Announces Summer UK And Ireland Headline Tour

Tom Rush will tour the UK and Ireland this summer.
The American folk and blues legend will call in Bristol, Birmingham, London, Manchester and Edinburgh before playing his debut Irish headline show at the Liberty Hall Theatre on June 28. He said:
"It's been a long time — way too long — since I’ve ventured across the big wet thing to visit my friends in the Isles. I was a frequent visitor in the late '60s and early '80s, playing all over the place. Then I changed managers and the new guy wanted to keep me stateside. This was unfortunate because, according to my UK publicist, my face was about to become a household word (his phrase, not mine).
"I gather that in my absence my song No Regrets achieved some currency via the Walker Brothers, Midge Ure and others, including some Irish folk band called, I believe, U2.
"Well, I’ve written a few more in the intervening decades and can’t wait to try them out on you! I haven’t changed a bit, and I’m sure you haven’t either!"
Rush began his career in the early 1960s, playing the clubs around his hometown of Boston while attending Harvard University. He went on to shape the folk revival in the '60s, with his music leaving its stamp on generations of artists. He released his most recent album, 'Voices', in 2018.
Tickets for the UK dates are available now, while tickets for his Irish show go on general sale on January 30 at 10am.
