The Great Escape has announced the first 68 acts for its debut digital edition.
After being forced to cancel its main event in 2020 and 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions, the Brighton festival will return virtually to broadcast up-and-coming artists across seven channels on May 13 and 14, running from 6pm until 8pm.
Among the first acts confirmed to perform online are Chubby and the Gang, Pyra, rising rapper Goya Gumbani, Spanish alt-rockers Belako, plus more. The livestreamed edition will also feature many specially curated showcases by industry partners, including CD Baby, MCD, Paradigm, Primary Talent, UTA and WME as well as country-specific specials from across Europe and the world.
In addition to the musical line up, there's also details on The Great Escape Conference featuring some of the industry's top dogs, including founder and CEO of Hipgnosis Songs Fund Merck Mercuriadis, Women In CTRL founder and AIM chair Nadia Khan, and president of TaP Music Wendy Ong.
