5SOS's Luke Hemmings Introduces Debut Solo Album With New Single Starting Line

Luke Hemmings has announced his debut solo album.
The 5 Seconds Of Summer lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist will release 'When Facing The Things We Turn Away From' on August 13. Introducing it online, he said:
"I couldn’t be prouder to introduce you to “When Facing the Things We Turn Away From”; a project that grew out of a year of enforced stillness. I’m so grateful for the journey this album has taken me on and I’m so thankful to have had this creative outlet during my time at home. Lyrically and sonically, this album has allowed me to decipher the last 10 years of my life and help me make sense of the person I am today and how I got here.
"It will be released everywhere August 13. Today, you can hear a first taste of the album; “Starting Line”.
"Thank you to my brothers in 5sos for your support and allowing me to pursue this project. Endless love to you."
Head below to hear the record's first single, Starting Line, an expansive and rousing indie-rock track complete with beautiful string arrangements and an earworm chorus.
5 Seconds Of Summer, meanwhile, released their last album 'Calm' in 2020 and will support it with the rescheduled No Shame Tour, which will head to Australia at the end of this year, the UK and Europe in spring 2022 and North America in summer 2022.
