Got 'Em appears as part of the new three-track 'Pokémon 25: The Red EP', alongside Wonderful by Cyn and Take It Home from Mabel.
It's inspired by Pokémon characters Mew and Raichu, and finds the rapper delivering his deadpan flow over a smouldering beat. He said in a statement:
"I've always been a fan of Pokémon, so it was particularly special to be asked to take part in this 25th anniversary celebration. I'm excited for people to hear Got 'Em, and hope the song resonates with fans, especially those who grew up with Pokémon like I did."
All three songs will feature on the upcoming compilation LP, 'Pokémon 25: The Album', due out later in 2021 through Capitol Records. It'll also include contributions from artists such as Katy Perry, J Balvin and Post Malone.
Staples dropped a self-titled LP in July, marking his first full-length in three years. He'll take the record on the road when he joins Tyler, The Creator on tour in North America during spring 2022.
