Just like its predecessor Champion Sound, Open Ya Mind boast production by Detroit's Black Milk. The single tackles the topic of the legalisation of marijuana in the US atop a '90s-esque soundscape. Sen Dog said:
"As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our debut, we wanted to be sure fans knew we weren’t planning on slowing down and can’t wait for them to hear the new album, coming early next year. “Open Ya Mind” gives you a taste of what’s to come and we can’t wait to return to see you on the road in 2022!"
The single serves as a preview of the follow-up to their 2018 album 'Elephants On Acid', which is expected to arrive in early 2022, though no further details have been confirmed.
