Holly Humberstone Posts New Single London Is Lonely

Friday, 21 January 2022 Written by Jon Stickler

Holly Humberstone is back with a new single.

London Is Lonely serves as the Brit Awards Rising Star winner's first new music since her sophomore EP, 'The Walls Are Way Too Thin', released in November 2021.

Produced by longtime collaborator Rob Milton, the touching, piano-based track reflects on the 22-year-old's move to London. Head below to view a live performance video, along with a stream of the official studio recording. She explained:

"I wrote London Is Lonely back in February 2020 right before the pandemic hit here in the UK. I had just moved out of my childhood home down to London and had spent the past few months feeling really trapped and alone in my tiny flat with strangers. London felt so intense and although there were so many people around me, I felt even more isolated and like I didn’t belong.

"I kind of lost myself in the city. I didn't exactly know who I was anymore, and so going home and writing felt like my safe space to process everything. It’s funny now listening to the song almost two years on, post-pandemic, and feeling like nothing much has changed at all. I’m still trying to find my place here and make it my home and so it felt right to put this song out into the world right now, when so many other people are probably feeling lost right now too."

Following a performance at the Brit Awards 2022 ceremony in London on February 8, Humberstone will head to the US for dates supporting Girl In Red this spring. She will also join Olivia Rodrigo on her Sour Tour. In June, she'll play two specials shows in Manchester and London. Tickets are on sale.

Holly Humberstone Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Sun June 05 2022 - MANCHESTER Manchester Academy 2
Mon June 06 2022 - LONDON O2 Forum Kentish Town
